AROS FOR COMMUNITY WATERWORKS

Make Community Water Systems Visible, Manageable and Reliable

ALALA helps municipalities, Subdistrict Administrative Organizations and public agencies assess, improve and monitor community water systems through engineering services and the ALALA Remote Operations Service — AROS.

AROS connects approved operational data from pumps, tanks, meters, electrical panels, PLC/RTU and water-quality instruments to a structured maintenance and service workflow—helping responsible officers understand system conditions, respond to abnormalities and plan maintenance using real operating evidence.

AROS is currently approved for development and pilot implementation. Production deployment requires site assessment, engineering design, security review, testing and formal acceptance.

Common Problems Are Often Hidden Until Service Is Interrupted

Unclear Water Production

No clear data on how much water is produced, when, and at what cost.

Unstable Water Pressure

Pressure fluctuates, causing complaints and pipe damage.

Pump Failures and High Energy Use

Unexpected breakdowns and inefficient operation increase costs.

Water Loss

Leaks and unauthorized consumption go undetected.

Delayed Fault Detection

Problems are discovered only after customers complain.

Incomplete Maintenance Records

No systematic tracking of equipment history and service actions.

Water Quality Monitoring Gaps

Limited visibility into water quality parameters and trends.

Limited Technical Personnel

Small teams struggle to monitor multiple sites effectively.

Local Reliability with Structured Remote Support

1

At the Waterworks Site

  • Read data from PLC, RTU, Meter and Instruments
  • Provide local monitoring/HMI
  • Keep important alarm and operational records at site
  • Continue local operation when internet is unavailable
  • Local pump control and safety remain at site
2

ALALA Edge Service

  • Read only approved data
  • Filter and summarize data
  • Buffer data when connectivity is interrupted
  • Send data securely
  • Monitor heartbeat and communication health
3

ALALA Service Platform

  • Manage Site and Asset registry
  • Receive alarms and events
  • Create Service Tickets
  • Plan Preventive Maintenance
  • Publish reports
  • Show approved information to customer
  • Manage service history and SLA workflow

Monitoring Supports Operations—It Does Not Replace Local Safety

  • Baseline service is read-only monitoring
  • Cloud does not directly start/stop pumps
  • Odoo does not connect directly to PLC for control
  • Local interlock and safe state remain at PLC/RTU/local control
  • The site must continue operating even if internet or cloud is unavailable
  • Future remote command requires separate approval and safety review

Managed Equipment with Clear Responsibility

  • In the AROS model, ALALA-installed edge equipment remains ALALA property under contract terms
  • The customer purchases service, not full ownership of the managed edge system
  • ALALA is responsible, within contract scope, for registration, configuration, monitoring, backup, update, maintenance and retrieval of the edge device

Frequently Asked Questions

Does AROS control pumps remotely?

No. The baseline AROS service is read-only monitoring. Pump control remains at the local PLC/RTU. Future remote control capabilities require separate engineering review and safety approval.

Will the waterworks stop if the internet fails?

No. The waterworks continues to operate normally. Local control systems (PLC/RTU) maintain full operation. AROS edge devices buffer data and resume transmission when connectivity is restored.

Must the organization replace all existing equipment?

No. AROS is designed to work with existing PLCs, RTUs, meters and instruments where compatible. A site survey determines what can be integrated and what additional equipment may be needed.

Can AROS work with existing PLCs and meters?

Yes, in most cases. Compatibility depends on the specific equipment models, communication protocols and data availability. A site assessment will confirm integration feasibility.

Can one system cover several sites?

Yes. AROS supports multi-site monitoring with a unified dashboard and consolidated reporting. Each site maintains its own edge device and local control independence.

Is the service ready for immediate nationwide deployment?

AROS is currently approved for development and pilot implementation. Each deployment requires site assessment, engineering design, security review, testing and formal acceptance before production use.
